HN-X730 Monoblock Review

Combining the main advantages of desktop computers and laptops, all-in-ones are increasingly attracting users who need a good working "computer" for home and office. The HN-X730 model from the Russian company HomeNET is one of the best solutions in its class in terms of price-quality ratio. How does this device stand out from its competitors and why should buyers pay attention to it? Let's figure it out!

Appearance

12

The device is made of impact-resistant matte plastic. On three sides around the monoblock screen, minimal frames are visible. When enabled, the borders get a little larger, but they are still not too large, so the appearance of the HN-X730 is in line with current trends.

Despite the small size of the monitor frame, the candy bar is not without a webcam. It is retractable here, which allows you to use the video camera if necessary and close the camera if necessary. The module is not installed on top, like some competitors, but on the side. This is due to the design features - all the filling is concentrated at the bottom of the computer, which made it possible to achieve a minimum thickness on top.

The monoblock leg is made of durable silver-colored aluminum-magnesium alloy. It is securely attached to the case, it is rigid and holds the device well on the table. Even when tilted too far, the HomeNET HN-X730 all-in-one maintains a stable immobility on the desktop.

Screen quality

Monoblock from HomeNET has received a modern matte IPS-matrix with Quad HD resolution. For a 27-inch diagonal, this is the optimal value, providing a comfortable pixel density, but not overloading the hardware. The automatically set display brightness of 250 cd / m2 is quite enough for work in office lighting conditions; there is a possibility of manual adjustment of brightness and contrast parameters. At home, this screen is also enough for most tasks. The panel's response time of 4ms is excellent for this price point.

Hardware platform

HN-X730

In the standard configuration, the computer (monoblock) has:

  • 512 gigabyte solid state drive with M.2 slot installed in PCI-Express slot for high speed data transfer. If necessary, the user can install an additional SSD or HDD for which the monoblock is equipped with an additional SATA-III port
  • fast DDR4 8Gb RAM, which is enough for almost all office programs, expandable up to 32Gb
  • motherboard based on B365 chipset. The basic configuration is a 2-core processor (4 threads) Intel G5400. If necessary, you can upgrade to any Intel 6/7/8/9 generation processor to the powerful 8-core Intel Core i7-9700K.

The basic version of the monoblock uses the graphics system UHD Graphics 610 integrated into the processor. Optionally, the manufacturer offers the installation of an additional GTX 1660 video card from NVIDIA. If this option does not suit you, then you can add your own card to the system. The video card must meet two requirements:

  • length no more than 20 cm;
  • power consumption within 75 watts.

All necessary wireless modules are installed (Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth). For sound output, a built-in stereo audio system is installed from two high-quality speakers with a power of 10W each. They are located in the lower part of the case, which is optimal for this monoblock design model: HomeNET HN-X730.

Interface set

34

On the right side for quick access there is a pair of USB 2.0 connectors and a card reader for connecting SD memory cards.

The rest of the ports are located at the bottom of the case:

  1. two HDMI (input, for using a monoblock as a monitor, and output, so that the user can add another screen to the system);
  2. four fast USB 3.0 ports;
  3. LAN connector for wired Internet and local network;
  4. power supply socket;
  5. a pair of 3.5 mm headphone and microphone jacks.

This set is sufficient for both comfortable office use and home. If the owner needs additional interfaces, then you can purchase a USB hub.

Outcome

HomeNET offers a first-class workhorse. The device is perfectly balanced, nice looking and well built. Even in the basic modification, the monoblock copes well with everyday tasks, and manually or with the help of specialists, the configuration can be changed to a more advanced one.
