10 best curved monitors

In just a few years, curved monitors managed to break into the market, generate interest from users, and then lose some popularity. However, manufacturers are not going to completely abandon the release of such devices. And buyers often prefer models with such an unusual design. However, the shape of the display alone is not enough to recommend the device. Therefore, we decided to compile a list of the best curved monitors for your computer. It includes mainly larger models. But in the end, we will also look at some relatively compact solutions.

TOP 10 best curved monitors

Before moving on to the review, let's try to figure out why the manufacturers decided to release such devices at all. Perhaps this is banal marketing, and it makes no sense to pay attention to curved models? Of course, it's not that simple. First of all, such monitors are convenient because they load less vision. The reason is precisely the curved shape: both in the center and at the edges of the screen, the distance to the user's eyes remains unchanged. Another plus is full immersion. It will be especially useful for gamers. And the design of such models is more interesting than that of the classic ones.

How to choose a curved monitor

  1. Tasks... Understand that curved screens are great for entertainment, but are a terrible choice for professionals. A straight line in the application may not look like this when you look at it. Therefore, for drawings, graphics and similar tasks, you should pay attention to standard monitors.
  2. Aspect ratio... Let's look at two of the most popular options: 16: 9 and 21: 9. The first is the standard one used in most modern devices. The second is cinematic. For films in the appropriate format, and especially for modern games, it suits better. Also, the 21: 9 format can be selected for video editing (unless, of course, the bending of the matrix will interfere with you).
  3. Resolution... The higher it is, the greater the load on the "hardware". Accordingly, in order to obtain a comparable frame rate in games at high resolutions, you will have to lower the graphics settings. But if the pixel density is not high enough, then the grain of the picture can be striking (especially when working with text). However, a lot here depends on individual perception.
  4. Matrix type... TN, IPS, VA and variations on the theme. The first type provides the lowest response time. It can also be achieved with VA-like displays. IPS should be chosen by those who value good color rendering and wide viewing angles. In VA screens, the picture is also visible at an angle, but with minimal color distortion. But this is where you can enjoy really deep blacks.
  5. Opportunities... Built-in speakers or USB ports are optional but useful features. If you are not going to use a bracket, it is also worth paying attention to the ergonomics of the stand. In inexpensive monitors, only tilt adjustment is provided. Better solutions allow you to control the height, rotate the screen around its axis, and switch it to portrait mode. But sometimes this is not available in more expensive models due to the design features.

Which curved monitor to choose

If you love fast-paced gaming and don't want to save money, we recommend the ROG Strix XG32VQ. Also in the assortment of ASUS there is a more affordable, but no less interesting (in terms of characteristics) monitor from the TUF Gaming line. AOC can compete with them. If you want a 21: 9 aspect ratio, then the Mi Surface from the Chinese brand Xiaomi is the perfect solution. Of course, the best curved monitors can't do without Samsung, which makes this segment alive. There are two Korean models in our rating.
